Ability Building Community (ABC) is a Rochester-based nonprofit that has served individuals with disabilities in southeastern Minnesota since 1956. With nearly 70 years of experience, ABC supports more than 700 people across Rochester, Caledonia, and La Crescent through four core areas: employment services, day support, independent living assistance, and vocational training. Their employment programs range from job development and placement to long-term supported employment and community-based school employment — helping individuals find and keep meaningful work in their communities.
What sets ABC apart is their person-centered model. Every support plan is built around the individual — their goals, their preferences, and their voice. ABC also operates two community-facing businesses, The Protocult and Ability Built Computers, giving individuals real work experience in a supported environment. With CARF accreditation across multiple programs, ABC meets nationally recognized standards for employment and community services.

ACES locations are Certified Child Care Centers under the Department of Human Services, subject to the standards of Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 245H. Under this certification, ACES adheres to strict guidelines in the areas of health and safety standards, emergency preparedness, staff training, staff to student ratios and maximum group sizes.
