The Walmart Distribution Center in Mankato opened in 2015. We service Walmart Stores, Supercenters, and Sam’s Clubs in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Nebraska. We are strictly a perishable building, meaning we ship items that need to be in a cooler or a freezer. We receive products from vendors from around the world, process and organize under strict standards in a temperature controlled environment, then ship out orders to around 120 different stores and clubs. We ship an average of 215,000 cases a day, which is the equivalent of 140 semi’s. We are more than just a warehouse than unloads and loads product. Collaboration is the key to our success, different departments specialize in different parts of the business to help operations run as smoothly as possible. We have Quality Assurance, Quality Inspectors, Quality Control, Systems/IT specialist, Maintenance, Implementation, Profile teams, Asset Protection, and of course Transportation. The plan is to open our automated building in 2027.

Under close supervision of the Jail Administrator, an employee in this class performs law enforcement work involving limited skills and techniques. Responsible for transporting inmates. Performs related work as required. This work does involve an element of danger. PAY $22.25/ Hour.
Examples of Duties
Any one position may not include all the duties listed, nor do the examples listed in their relative order of importance include all duties that may be found in positions of this class.
Transporting of prisoners to and from court hearings, to medical and other facilities as necessary.
Cleaning of transport vehicles.
Receives training in applicable laws and ordinances and in law enforcement principles and procedures as they relate to the duties of the Transport Officer.
Prepares reports as needed.
Any other duties as assigned.
You will get Use of force certified, Taser certified, OC Spray certified.
You will have to have good communication skills.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Pre-Employment
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to high school graduation.
A valid driver's license and the ability to drive an automobile safely and efficiently.
Must be a minimum of eighteen years of age.
Ability to exhibit mature judgment and imagination.
Ability to defend self and others in instances of personal danger.
Ability to deal with prisoners and the public with tact and impartiality.
Ability to perform work requiring good physical condition.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, law enforcement, other agencies, and the public.
Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
