Mattracks is a global manufacturer of rubber track conversion systems headquartered in Karlstad, Minnesota.
The company began with a simple idea from founder Glen Brazier’s 11-year-old son, Matt, who drew a picture of a large truck with tracks instead of tires and asked, “Could we make something like this?” That idea led to years of engineering, testing, and prototype development. Mr. Brazier eventually received a patent, and Mattracks track systems were released for sale to the public in 1994.
Today, Mattracks has grown from that original concept into a global company offering more than 200 models of rubber track conversion systems. Mattracks products are sold in more than 100 countries, on all seven continents, and are used in agriculture, construction, utilities, commercial operations, recreation, government, military applications, and other industries where dependable mobility is critical.
Mattracks designs and manufactures its products at its facilities in Karlstad, Minnesota. The company’s capabilities include engineering, CAD/CAM design, prototyping, precision machining, metal fabrication, rubber track molding, assembly, testing, marketing, and worldwide sales.
One of Mattracks’ unique manufacturing capabilities is its in-house rubber track production. By engineering and molding its own rubber tracks, Mattracks can closely control materials, manufacturing processes, testing, and quality throughout production.
Mattracks engineers also design and build much of the specialized equipment and machinery used in the company’s own manufacturing and track-molding operations.
From an idea drawn by an 11-year-old boy in northern Minnesota to products operating around the world, Mattracks continues to focus on engineering, innovation, American manufacturing, and creating dependable mobility solutions for some of the world’s most challenging terrain.
