HealthForce Minnesota is one of eight Centers of Excellence belonging to the Minnesota State system. Our work is to build capacity in the future healthcare workforce in Minnesota by connecting with healthcare industry leaders, higher education, and K12 education to track trends at all levels.
HealthForce has many programs that we host to accomplish our goals. Our most visible program is Scrubs Camp, a healthcare career immersion program that is hosted across 20 cities in Minnesota during the summertime. We also have our own curriculum available to high schools, which is the HealthCare Core Curriculum (HCCC). This curriculum is partnered with a local college to offer high schoolers an in-depth view of skills needed to work and be involved in healthcare while gaining college credit.
We are currently partnered with The Clinical Coordination Partnership, which had originated with HealthForce and is self-sustained. This program assists nursing students with valuable clinical experience needed to graduate. We are also partnered with Minnesota Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA), which gives high school students valuable leadership experience and insights into future healthcare careers. Minnesota HOSA also hosts several conferencing sessions for high schoolers, one of which is hosted locally in Rochester, Minnesota.
