ForestryWorks of Minnesota is a workforce development initiative launched in 2024 to strengthen the state's forestry and forest products industry by connecting students, educators, and job seekers with career opportunities. Led by Program Manager Michael Sullivan, ForestryWorks of Minnesota collaborates with organizations like Minnesota Forest Industries, the Minnesota Timber Producers Association, and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. In its first year, the program participated in 12 career fairs and major industry events, including the Minnesota State Fair, reaching thousands of individuals. The initiative emphasizes the integration of traditional ecological knowledge with modern forestry practices, aiming to preserve natural resources and support rural economies.
