The primary positions that we hire for are HVAC-R Technicians/Installer, Ammonia Refrigeration Technicians, Welders, and Pipefitters.
We are a business-to-business contractor, meaning we do not go into residential homes. A typical work week is M-F. Some positions have a rotating on-call schedule for after regular business hours, weekends, and holidays since we are 24/7, 365 company. If called on a weekend or holiday, employees will receive additional paid time off/vacation hours in addition to the on call pay.
Our Commercial teams focus on grocery stores, convenience stores, etc. addressing their refrigeration needs. This includes general maintenance, installation, and operation of the systems. Daily travel to the business location can be expected. Overnight stays may happen occasionally, however do not occur often.
Our Industrial teams focus on larger scale ammonia refrigeration systems, such as installation and maintenance projects for cold food storage, dairy processing, food and beverage production, ice rinks, and heavy industry. Travel to the installation locations and overnight stays during the week can be expected on the industrial side of the business.
Carlson & Stewart Refrigeration, Inc. offers paid internships to students age 18+ to help students decide if refrigeration is the right path for them. Along with a paid internship, if the student expresses interest in the field, CSR also offers a Tuition Reimbursement Program for HVAC-R and Welding one- or two-year technical programs.
