Black Business Network (BBN) is a Minnesota nonprofit dedicated to strengthening Black-owned businesses through entrepreneurship, economic opportunity, business resources, technology, and community engagement.
BBN welcomes partnerships with schools, career and technical education programs, colleges, and workforce organizations to introduce students to real-world careers in business, nonprofit leadership, marketing, technology, and community economic development.
Our programs include BBN Visible, a year-round business visibility and marketplace initiative; digital business and Member Portal resources; business-support activities; and community-centered educational programming.
Potential student experiences include program data collection and impact reporting, business and administrative support, digital resource navigation, marketing and communications, vendor check-in and marketplace coordination, community outreach, supervised project-based learning, job shadowing, mentorship, and career exploration.
We are particularly interested in paid internship and work-based learning partnerships supported by school districts, workforce agencies, colleges, work-study funding, or other approved wage subsidies. Operational internships are paid positions, subject to confirmed program funding and placement agreements.
Participants receive structured assignments, designated adult supervision, workplace training, clear expectations, and opportunities to develop professional skills.
BBN serves communities throughout Saint Paul, Oakdale, Woodbury, Ramsey County, Washington County, and the broader Twin Cities region.
