Established in 1946, the Minnesota Chapter of the American Public Works Association (APWA-MN) comprises over 1,000 public works professionals from both public and private sectors across the state. The chapter's mission is to advance the theory and practice of designing, constructing, maintaining, administering, and operating public works facilities and services. Members engage in exchanging information and experiences, promoting sustainable best practices, and enhancing professional and social involvement within the public works community.
APWA-MN offers various educational programs and networking opportunities, including annual spring and fall conferences that focus on leadership, management, and technical education, providing professional continuing education credits. The chapter also supports an active Student Chapter and Young Professionals Group, fostering the development of future public works leaders. Additionally, APWA-MN recognizes excellence through its annual awards program, celebrating outstanding achievements and contributions within the public works profession.
