Skills and Knowledge Fair Grades 10-12

November 18, 2025 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

Emergency Medical Services: Laura Korpi – Maximum of 22 students
Students will get an overview of the EMS field and employment opportunities.
Students will compete in two-person teams (please send an even number of students for this competition so everyone has a partner from their school) in a relay race that will include many EMS stations and applications.

Graphic Design and Visual Communications: Paul McLaughlin
(This event is designed for students who are interested in Graphics as a future career although no previous experience is necessary.)

(Maximum of 6 students) – No previous experience needed.
Students with an interest in Video Editing and Motion Graphics

Industrial Mechanical Technology: John Schweiberger, Keith Bundermann, Cary Satrang– Maximum of 30 students
General Mechanical & Skills Test
Applications-
Micrometers & measuring
Bearing identification
Tool identification
Crane test

Practical Nursing: Devon Luthens – Maximum of 30 students
There will be information on the program, hand on activities and games.

Electrical Controls & Maintenance: Scott Hoffman & Derek Moe – Maximum of 12 students – No Previous Experience Necessary! (PLEASE BRING SAFETY GLASSES!)
Students will be wiring a simple low voltage circuit.

Welding: Randy Washenesky, Ryan Dall & Eugene Stitt – Maximum of 40 students
Written general knowledge and safety test concerning Shielded Metal Arc Welding, Oxy-Acetylene Welding and Oxy-Acetylene Cutting
Practical test involving:
7018 fillet weld T-joint in the vertical position on ¼” mild steel
7018 fillet weld T-joint in the horizontal position on ¼” mild steel plate
Students are required to bring their own tools (Hood, Gloves, Jacket, Safety Glasses, Slag Hammer).

Engineering: Katy Ulseth, Christine Kennedy, Katie Scherf – Maximum of 50 students
What do engineers do? Why do we need engineers? The answer: They make the world a better place! Come learn about the endless opportunities that being an engineer brings while doing hands-on activities to show you what engineers do.

Early Childhood/Early Childhood Special Education Teacher/Teacher’s Assistant/Instructional Aide: Julie Poderzay – Maximum of 30 Students
