Mayo Clinic High School Volunteer Program

July 28 - August 4

The High School Volunteer Program in Rochester is accepting applications from area high school students. Students will be expected to provide weekly volunteer service from September 2025 through January 2026. Volunteer opportunities are available in clinical and nonclinical areas.

How to apply
High school students aged 14 to 18 can apply from July 28 to Aug. 4. Applications will not be accepted after Aug. 4. There will be a cap on the number of students able to participate as volunteers. Applicants are encouraged to apply early within the application window, as spots at orientation are limited.

Applicants and their parents or guardians are encouraged to attend a virtual information session on Wednesday, July 23, from 4 to 5 p.m. The session will be held virtually on Microsoft Teams, and participants must register in advance. Once registered, applicants will receive a link to the virtual session via email. The session will cover program structure and benefits and introduce different service opportunities and requirements. Attendance at the informational session is strongly recommended but not required.

Applicants and their parents or guardians must attend a High School Volunteer Orientation session on Aug. 5 or Aug. 7 at 4:30 p.m. The orientation will be held at the Joseph Lecture Hall (Joseph Building, Main Level, Room 59, Saint Marys Campus). The session will review available service opportunities and placements in detail, and cover onboarding requirements and program expectations.
