Responsabilities
All responsibilities will be done under the guidance of the expert researchers at The Hormel Institute, who have years of experience running a lab and teaching the next generation of scientists.
- Perform basic laboratory experiments
- Clean, sanitize, and maintain laboratory “bench” space and equipment
- Learn compliance and safety measures and ensure laboratory operations meet and exceed those requirements
- Document and maintain lab inventory
- Participate in lab meetings and become an active member of the lab team
- Participate in professional development opportunities
- Be curious and learn as much as you can
Required Qualifications
- Open to students who will be entering 10th, 11th, or 12th grade.
- Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions in English
- Demonstrated maturity and ability to follow safety rules and compliance regulations
- A curious mind
Preferred Qualifications
- Skilled in completing work accurately and with attention to detail
- A demonstrated interest in science, research, and a lab environment
