The STEM Next Flight Crew is a national youth leadership program for teens interested in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Selected participants represent their states and help more young people learn about STEM opportunities outside the classroom.
Members receive training in communication, public speaking, and leadership. They connect with other teens, mentors, and STEM professionals and share their experiences through events, interviews, videos, and social media.
The program runs from January through June 2027. Members attend one one-hour virtual group session and one 30-minute small-group check-in each month. Additional opportunities are optional.
Applicants must live in the United States, be ages 13–18 at the deadline, and have experience in an afterschool, summer, or other STEM activity outside of school. They must be willing to share their STEM experiences publicly. Applicants under 18 need parent or guardian certification.
