SUMMARY:Nitro-X Camp - Rochester Community and Technical College-Heintz Center
DESCRIPTION:Nitro-X Summer Camp is designed for middle school students to explore careers in transportation through hands-on activities. Hosted by Minnesota State Colleges and High Schools\, the camp features technical sessions\, hands-on tinkering with RC cars\, and painting RC car bodies in professional paint booths. Campers also participate in two VIP industry tours\, build technical confidence\, and develop teamwork and employability skills. The experience concludes with an epic race where students showcase their RC driving skills and compete for the best time with friends—all while gaining valuable exposure to the transportation industry.

Each day students will dive into the fundamentals of a different trade\, learning directly from experienced instructors in real lab environments. \nParticipants will spend one full day in each of the following areas:\n• Welding – Learn safety\, equipment basics\, and try your hand at foundational welds.\n• Carpentry – Explore measuring\, cutting\, framing\, and essential building techniques.\n• Automotive Technology – Get under the hood with basic diagnostics and maintenance skills.\n• Plumbing & HVAC – Understand piping systems\, tools\, and core installation concepts.
