DESCRIPTION:Jumpstart your career in the trades with our four-week Carpentry Industry Orientation\, which is designed to introduce you to essential skills and knowledge for success in the construction industry. Whether you’re new to the field or looking to sharpen your foundation\, this program offers hands-on training and real-world insights from experienced professionals. \nThroughout the four weeks\, participants will rotate through focused training in general safety\, basic carpentry skills\, roofing\, and highway heavy construction. You’ll learn how to safely and effectively use tools and materials\, understand job site protocols\, and get exposure to the diverse work environments that carpenters encounter every day. \nThis program is ideal for individuals looking to explore multiple career paths within the construction trades while building the confidence and experience needed to take the next step. Training takes place in a supportive\, team-oriented environment and includes opportunities to connect with union representatives\, employers\, and training staff. \nNo prior experience is necessary\, and all safety gear and materials are provided. Take the first step toward a rewarding career with the skills and support to succeed. The program funds are made possible by a Labor Education Advancement Program grant from the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry. \nProgram starts in June 2025!

SUMMARY:Nitro-X Camp - Minnesota North College\, Hibbing
DESCRIPTION:Nitro-X Summer Camp is designed for middle school students to explore careers in transportation through hands-on activities. Hosted by Minnesota State Colleges and High Schools\, the camp features technical sessions\, hands-on tinkering with RC cars\, and painting RC car bodies in professional paint booths. Campers also participate in two VIP industry tours\, build technical confidence\, and develop teamwork and employability skills. The experience concludes with an epic race where students showcase their RC driving skills and compete for the best time with friends—all while gaining valuable exposure to the transportation industry.
