SUMMARY:The Minnesota Manufactured™ Statewide Tour Student Video Contest
DESCRIPTION:Students are encouraged to create a video that highlights the importance of manufacturing in Minnesota. To submit the video\, simply upload it to YouTube or Vimeo and send a link to our Center’s email address at mnmfg@minnstate.edu. Be sure to include the hashtags #MinnesotaManufactured\, #MinnesotaManufacturing\, #StatewideTour\, and #MNMFGStudentVideoContest in the social media posts about the contest. \nThe video contest is a unique blend of educational enrichment and creative expression giving students the opportunity to:\n• Polish their communication skills: Crafting clear and concise messages enhances the ability to convey complex ideas effectively both in person and online.\n• Explore manufacturing careers: Gain insights into the diverse and rewarding career paths in manufacturing\, sparking interest or inspiring students to share this knowledge with others.\n• Unleash their creativity: Showcase storytelling and video production skills by creating compelling and engaging content.\n• Win exciting prizes: Compete for cash awards valued up to $750! \nThree prizes will be awarded to the winning students as determined by the Statewide Tour Video committee:\n• 1st place prize: $750 cash prize\n• 2nd place prize: $500 cash prize\n• 3rd place prize: $250 cash prize \nThe contest deadline is February 28\, 2025. SUMMARY:RISE for Youth Program - Application Window
DESCRIPTION:RISE for Youth is a first-of-its-kind collaboration between Mayo Clinic and the Rochester branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) designed to help Black and underrepresented students transform themselves from youth with potential into competitive and empowered talent entering the workforce. \nRISE for Youth aims to create new pathways for success by providing students with critical educational and leadership skills\, training\, and long-term mentoring for successful careers in healthcare\, science\, and beyond. \nThe RISE for Youth Program will enroll a cohort model of 20 students from the local community. \nProgram dates\nThe 2025 summer program will be held June 9th through July 3rd\, 2025. \nThe program will meet from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.\, Monday through Thursday at Mayo Clinic’s campus in Rochester\, Minnesota.

SUMMARY:Service-Learning Program through Volunteer Services - Application Window
DESCRIPTION:The purpose of this program is to provide students (grades 11 & 12) with an opportunity to engage in volunteer service during their school day and receive academic credit. Through regular service\, students will be exposed to a healthcare environment\, observe a variety of career opportunities\, and develop their professional skills. \nFor our new Service-Learning Program through Volunteer Services\, students will engage in volunteer service experiences across the practice\, presenting them with opportunities to engage directly with patients\, clinical care team members\, and provide non-clinical assistance in a busy hospital environment. Our inaugural Service-Learning program will be the 2025-2026 school year\, with opportunities for single or multiple semester commitments. Ideal applicants would be:\n• Interested in a healthcare career\n• Inquisitive\, observational\, and tactile learners\n• Have a desire to be an engaged member of the Mayo Clinic care team \nService-Learning Program Applications will be accepted throughout the month of February\, with a final deadline of March 1. In addition to an application\, all applicants will be required to submit a Service-Learning agreement form\, to be signed by the student\, a parent/guardian\, and a school representative. Following review of submitted applications\, Mayo Clinic Volunteer Services staff will invite a select number of students to interview for this opportunity. Final selections will be made by April 1.
